For those who are wondering about our trip. We were going to head out this morning. However, the sky is full of dark clouds here on the East side of the state. It is suppose to be so tomorrow as well. Things are supposed to start getting nicer Tuesday and continue to get nicer through the rest of the week. Therefore, here is our new itinerary.
Tuesday morning we will start at the Anthony Lake ski run trail, following the ridge trail for about 9 miles to Summit Lake.
Wednesday we will hike almost 12 miles. We will return to the Summit trail junction and follow the Elkhorn Ridge trail to the Twin Lakes junction. There we will descend into Twin Lakes and set up camp for two nights.
Thursday we will climb back out of Twin Lakes, follow the ridge trail back the way we came for about a mile. There, we will scramble to the top (at 9106') of Rock Creek Butte (conditions permitting). Then Return to Twin Lakes for an afternoon of lounging around.
Friday we will climb out of Twin Lakes (again) and follow the ridge trail to the Marble Creek Trail Head.
Total trip mileage is about 29.5 miles. Anyone else want to come?
